Security Considerations for RSAT

RSAT tools have many advantages for centralized control of multiple servers. However, managing remote systems requires strict security precautions, especially for business and business-critical networks. Inadequate security can lead to security vulnerabilities that can lead to hacking and ransomware attacks. A compromised administrator account can negatively impact the entire server infrastructure.

The following security issues should be considered before using remote server management tools:

Does the account or group that is granted administrator privileges have adequate security to prevent unauthorized access to and from remote devices?

Are the administrative hosts that make up RSAT functioning securely, with dedicated workstations with high access restrictions and multifactor authentication?
