All Boruto Arcs in Order: Your Complete Roadmap

Last updated on November 18th, 2025 at 12:37 pm

Look, I get it. You are now finished with Naruto, you are up to more ninja action and some one informs you that there are 293 episodes in Boruto with a lot of filler. Yea, that too was the same do I really want to make a commitment. moment too.

The thing is that I still watched it. And honestly? The plot is even worth the read. However, you must have a roadmap, and it is impossible to wander through Boruto without one, which resembled walking through a minefield of slice of life episodes about… geese. Yes, really.

Then here’s all the details, so to speak, about all Boruto arcs in sequence, and the ones that are safe to skip.

The Two-Part Structure You Need to Understand

Boruto is divided in two significant sections. The first one is Naruto Next Generations (part 1) (episodes 1-293), and the second book is Two Blue Vortex (manga-only to date) (part 2). In March 2023, the anime terminated, with the manga continuing.

What startled me here is; there is only a percentage of about 17 pure filler. The catch? There is also another fragment anime canon which is an original material that continues the story but is not of the manga. That is filler, depending on how long-suffering you are.

Part 1: Every Arc of Boruto (Academy to Otsutsuki Threats) in Order.

The Academy Years (Episodes 1-66)

Entrance Arc to Academy (1-16): We get to see the person we are going to follow, Boruto, and the guy is rather a jerk. The plot of the story Ghost Incidents presents Sumire and preconditions the tone. It is slow, yet it delineates characters.

Sarada Uchiha Arc (19-24): Sarada is confused about her blood and we are handed an archetypal Uchiha family drama. This is close to the tone of the back story of Sasuke, in case you are a fan.

School Trip Arc (25-32): The Seven Ninja Swordsmen manifest. It is ok, but could be omitted in case you are in hurry.

Arc Level Graduation Exams (35-39): Team 7 is officially organized. Have to, in a hurry, get it done.

Genin Mission Arc (40-52): This was the place I started feeling impatient. There is the mission that is enjoyable and the one that seems like stalling.

Chunin Exam Arc/Versus Momoshiki Arc (53-66): THIS is the point of real beginning of Boruto. Boruto tries to cheat with the help of ninja tech and gets caught, after which Momoshiki and Kinshiki invade. Naruto becomes exhausted, the seal of the Karma goes to Boruto and all of a sudden the stakes exist. Don’t skip this.

The Middle Stretch (Episodes 67-140)

Cho-Cho Arc (67-69): Forget it. Just… Trust me.

Disappearance Arc of Mitsuki (71-92): Mitsuki is a charming girl, and when you love her (I do), watch it. Most of it, though, you may leave out.

Parent and Child Day Arc (93-95): Healthy, helpful, and unnecessary.

Jugo Arc (98-103): Another anime original. Your call.

Steam Ninja Scrolls Arc (106-111): The way of Mirai. It’s nice, not essential.

Time Slip Arc (127-140): This one is not bad at all. Boruto and Sasuke go back in time to encounter little Naruto. Seems like fanservice proper. Worth watching.

The Game Changes (Episodes 141-220)

Mujina Bandits Arc (141-156): This is where Kara is introduced. Kawaki appears as a vessel. The most significant ones are episodes 148-151, the rest is elaboration.

Kara Actuation Arc (157-177): Jigen is shown to be the ship of Isshiki. The god-tier threats arrive. At last the story comes to seem like it is alive.

Ao Arc (178-187): It is the conflicts with the members of Kara. Necessary viewing.

Kawaki Arc: Kara Clash (188-205): Kara Karma, the Karma of Boruto, wakes up. The dynamics between characters change abruptly.

King of Shadows (206-220): Naruto employs Baryon Mode to fight Isshiki. Kurama dies. I’m not crying, you’re crying. The scene is amazingly animated, one of the best in the series.

The ‘The Final Search Before Time Jump (Episode 221-293)

Kawaki & Himawari Academy Arc (221-230): Kawaki adapts to the regular life. Cute, but not critical.

Examination Arc (261-273): Exam more. You know the drill.

Assault Arc (274-293): Code is avenging the death of Isshiki. Eida and Daemon (powerful cyborgs) appear. The Omnipotence power gives all people new memories in which they believe Kawaki is Boruto, and Boruto killed Naruto. Wild stuff. Don’t skip.

Part 2: Two Blue Vortex (Manga-Only, In progress)

Power to Rewrite Reality (Chapters 68-80): The Arc of Omnipotence. Only Sarada and Sumire did not lose the truth.

Boruto Family Life (Chapter 1-Present): Time of Chapter time skip 3 years. Boruto is a fugitive, Kawaki put Naruto and Hinata another dimension, and everybody believes that Boruto is the bad man. The manga’s still going here.

Shinki Rescue Arc: State of developments as of November 2025.

Your Skip Guide: What You Damned Well Can Ignore.

The following is the table I would have desired at the beginning:

Arc NameEpisodesSkip or Watch?Why
Cho-Cho Arc67-69SKIPActress dreams. That’s it.
Konoha Shinden106-111SkipNice but unnecessary
Filler Block221-260SKIPConfirmed non-canon, zero impact
Most of 141-156141-147, 152-156SkipWatch only 148-151 for Kawaki intro

The episodes that are unquestionably worth watching include: 1-66 (and at least 53-66), 141-151, 157-220, 274-293.

That would reduce your watch time of 293 episodes to approximately 130-150. You’re welcome.

The Real Talk: Is It Worth It?

This is my sincere opinion after having viewed all the arcs of Boruto: the main story is good. The Otsutsuki material, the Karma seal riddle, all of the arc created by Kawaki – it is compelling. The problem is the pacing. The anime was based on a month-long manga being aired on a weekly basis, and it shows.

You can get the bare bones of the story by reading the manga on either <|human|>On Manga Plus, or on Visa Magazine, you can get the story without the spam. Both provide the access to the latest chapters with no charge.

But you are an anime-only person like me? Use this guide. Skip the filler. Watch the arcs that matter. And when you reach episode 220, cinch your seatbelt – because the Baryon Mode fight is worth all that mediocre episode suffering you took.

The flaws of the series are some filler, rushed, and lack of attention to the characters, yet the skeletons of the story are sound. One only needs to know where to turn.

Where to Watch

On their site, Crunchyroll.com, all the 293 episodes are free with advertisements. Reading guides can be found at the subreddit of Boruto, Boruto r/Boruto has viewing guides in case you need yet another opinion. And the canon of each episode of the series is disaggregated by Anime Filler Guide.

Bottom line? Sequence of all Bouts of the series is a tale of legacies, identity and cosmic gods of ninja. It is all dishevelled, but it is all ballooned, yet it has heart. Battery maybe just leave that skip button there.
