Look, I have been bouncing among the streaming subscriptions the same way that most people bounce around credit cards, too many and not even sure what I even pay a significant part of the time.
Accordingly, I have attended to the previous month quite literally testing Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Prime Video in order to find out which service is worthy of your money in the year 2025.
Here’s what I found.
Table of Contents
The Quick Breakdown: What You’re Actually Getting
Netflix begins at 7.99 with advertisements, although the new millennium user is likely to pay 17.99 without adverts, the Standard version. You end up having 240 anime titles moulded into one giant library of the rest. The interface? Completely re-invented this year with AI suggestions which really work. I requested something funny and up beat and it hit it.
And this is where it becomes interesting with Prime Video. It costs 8.99 alone, but has 4K streaming in all packages and allows adding Crunchyroll as an add-on. Besides, at this point, you are already paying the Amazon Prime at $139 a year and now it comes with free shipping and music. That’s solid value.
Crunchyroll is priced at $7.99 (with adverts) and 15.99 (premium). It has more than 1,300 anime shows in its collection, by far surpassing that of Netflix or Prime Video itself. This is the mother of the anime world.
What Really Counts When You Are Picking.
Netflix prevails in case you desire diversity. I would see television cooking, true crime, and anime within the same time. Their personalization is frighteningly good, so approximately 80 percent of the content watched by people is one that is suggested by AI, rather than randomly watched.
Prime Video is difficult to rival in case you want value. Four live streams at once as standard 4K and can be integrated with 20+ other services you can access with ease. I cancelled three separate subscriptions and simply replaced them with the help of Prime instead. Way less annoying.
In case you are just interested in anime, then Crunchyroll is the obvious solution. New episodes fall hours after they are aired in Japan. However, there exists one trick in this game, users have been complaining of crashing on Xbox, random logging out, and buffering. I had the same experience with the log out issue two times in a week. Frustrating.
The Money Talk Nobody Wants to Have.
The truth is as follows: an average household is spending 69 dollars a month on 4 streaming platforms. More than 800 dollars per annum to watch TV.
My advice? Select the service (Netflix or Prime Video) of an anchor and switch the rest. subscribe to Crunchyroll pay two months when your favorite anime releases, watch all that the content offers and cancel. Netflix published what you desire? Resubscribe. All three of them need not be running for every month.
This is facilitated by the bundling nature of Prime Video. You are a Crunchyroll customer that you can add as a channel within Prime, which means that you are not dealing with multiple logins and billing cycles.
But Which one do you really want to Pay?
It depends on what you watch:
- Casual users interested in everything: Netflix. It has the good content and interface that justify the high premium price in case you are watching on a daily basis.
- Flexible Smart spenders: Prime Video. The 4K resolution, optional features, and built-in ecosystem are the best to present the greatest point at your price.
- Live and breath anime fans: Crunchyroll. And simply prepare to experience a hiccup every now and then.
Personally? I am maintaining Prime video as my ground and swapping between Madame Netflix and Crunchyroll based on monthly releases. Helps me to save around 20 dollars a month as opposed to having all the three running.
Streaming wars are not decelerating and, as such, your wallet does not need to suffer as well. Choose wisely, change the channel frequently, and cease to spend money in what you are not watching.
FAQs
What is the platform, which has the best anime selection?
Crunchyroll also talks back with 1,300+ anime titles against 240 and 200 on Netflix and Prime Video, respectively. It publishes new episodes on hours of their broadcast in Japan and has several language dubs.
However, Netflix owns the casual animation users since it produces its own content, and thus, you may not need a huge library on the company in case you are not a hardcore fan.
Better value between Netflix or Prime Video?
Prime Video provides better value: 8.99/month standalone comes with 4K streaming enabled by default as well as up to 4 parallel streams, and it has multiple add-on subscriptions built in.
Netflix has superior exclusive materials and finer UI at a higher cost. Prime Video is a win with an easy case in mind in case you are already a member of Amazon Prime.
Can I sell my streaming subscription to family?
Netflix offers 1-4 streams at once based on the level of plan, but has now enforced policies against sharing passwords with paid sharing capabilities. Prime Video has the capability to support 4 streams at the same time, whereas Crunchyroll can support 3.
Simply, remember that Netflix will charge you more when you are out of your home and are sharing.
