New ChatGPT Agent: How I Actually Use It (And You Can, Too).

Look, I would be frank, at the beginning of hearing about the New ChatGPT Agent, I believed it was another buzzword. The other AI update that would change the industry is fastening the AI up so that it would be capable of generating text at a slightly faster speed. Then I actually tried it.

It is not just the usual ChatGPT. We are not only referring to an AI that chats, it acts. Like, in fact, clicks on the websites, completes the forms, and does all the activities that would be several hours. This is what I found out upon giving it the test.

What Makes This Different?

The regular ChatGPT provides you with answers. You retrieve, paste and copy and do the job yourself. The New ChatGPT Agent? It is more of having a helper which is able to do the work himself.

It runs on a virtual computer and is available to a text browser, a full GUI browser (can click and scroll as with the real browser), and has an integration into apps such as Gmail, Google Drive, and GitHub. The catch? It can be purchased only by the users of Plus (40 messages per month) and Pro (400 messages per month). No free tier here.

How to Actually Use It

But becoming a member is even easier than stupid. In Open ChatGPT, go to the tools menu in the composing section and use agent mode. Or just type /agent in the chat. Dtell this, and tell me what thou needest.

The interesting part, however, is here the agent can display to you what it is doing in real-time. You are able to jump in, take on the browser, or kill it whenever you wish. It is not some black box activity.

Real Use Cases I’ve Tested

New ChatGPT Agent

Customer Service Which Really Works.

I linked the agent to a ticketing system and monitored it dealing with regular support requests. We are discussing tracking of the orders, simple troubleshooting and requesting the refunds. Research demonstrates that it is able to automate 70-80 per cent of standard queries with 80 per cent self-service. The best part? It intensifies delicate matters to human beings, as opposed to stumbling.

Scientific Studies Into the Black Hole.

An analysis of competitors required on a project. I rather asked the agent to find out 10 competitors and list major characteristics instead of wasting my whole afternoon clicking on websites and making notes. It read and evaluated 200 or more sources, and created a detailed report in approximately 4 hours, which would otherwise have taken me 160 or more hours to do the same by hand.

The agent is able to draw out information across a variety of sources, overlap and, in fact, build systematized spreadsheets or slide packs. Not only bullet points that you must format yourself.

Form Filling (And at last automated)

This will be welcome, in the event you had to fill out the same information on various platforms. The agent has the ability to automatically fill in forms and transit information between systems without the slow copy-paste jitterbug.

I had the need to use it to register my event which involved details of the venue, list of attendees, and presentation requirements in three different platforms. Saved me about 90 minutes.

E-mail and Calendar Management.

Link it to Google drive calendar and Gmail, and you can schedule meetings, write emails (but you need to approve them), and keep schedule in order. It will do nothing without your say and that is quite encouraging.

I gave it a test with scheduling follow-ups. The agent wrote personal messages in the form of emails and proposed meeting next time slots depending on the notes of the meeting. Nevertheless had to be reviewed by me, but this saved half the time on drafting.

Before Starting: What You Need to Know.

The fact: the agent may work on a single task replacing up to an hour, but it is not flawless. It has difficulty with CAPTCHA, it is incapable of solving complex three-dimensional problems (do NOT ask it to plot physical paths), and even errors that will not be detected at once.

In the case of more sensitive stuff, like passwords, bank and shopping, you will prefer to use takeover mode where you deal with those directly. The agent is conditioned to seek consent before risky acts are taken but it is better to be safe than sorry.

As well, all websites are not kind with it. Websites that contain weird interfaces or massive JavaScript may be gagged by them.

Getting the Best Results

Be specific. Rather than, handle my email, request, please choose, review emails about [client name] regarding [project] and write back based on [style]. The more the context provided, the better it will perform.

Start small. Challenge it with low stakes exercises with very little of critical importance. After basic research and form filling, I put it to basic work before handing it over to client work.

This is relevant with use watch mode. It is not only able to see what it is clicking and typing and so its errors before they turn into a problem.

Is It Worth Your Time?

You are doing content organization, basic customer support, research, data entry, or other repetitive tasks: The New ChatGPT Agent truly is time-saving in these situations. I do not exaggerate when I say that it condensed one full day of work in a couple of hours on some of my projects.

But it’s not replacing anyone. Imagination: Use it as a way to deal with the mundane stuff so you can get to work that requires the usage of your brain. The automation rate of routine tasks, in 70-80% is genuine but the remaining 20-30% part is beyond human judgment.

At 20/month (Plus) or 200/month (Pro), it comes down to whether it is worth it or not based on the volume of tedious work you are currently losing sleep on. I would say it would pay off in a short time in case you spend 5+ hours per week on the stuff that can be done by the agent.

The tech is here. It works. You can simply not hope that magic will come, though, you can hope to get a truly good assistant who just requires some supervision here and there.
