So, you know how I discovered Putlocker proxies after my favorite streaming website was taken down. One day, it was working fine; the next nothing. There\u0027s no error message except the one coming from my ISP. It was then that I began to dig into what these proxy sites are, in fact.
Table of Contents
So What Does a Putlocker Proxy Mean, Anyway?
It was a kind of backdoor entrance. When your isp blocks putlocker (the main one), a proxy is literally a copy of that site on another web address. It’s the same content, same layout but a new URL that your ISP hasn’t blocked.
The proxy server is in between you and the blocked site. It hides your real IP address and sends your connection to another server, distorting it to appear as though you’ve connected from elsewhere. Pretty clever, right?
Here’s the Catch (Because There always Is)
Before you get any ideas, let me just keep it real. Putlocker proxies also have some baggage:
Security nightmares: These sites are packed with dubious ads. I mean pop-ups that can deliver malware into your device. Some phony download buttons are trying to trick you into downloading spyware.
Legal gray area: In the UK, Germany or France getting to copyrighted material by using a proxy could get you in trouble. Fines, cease-and-desist letters from copyright holders, ISP warnings. Not fun.
Privacy hazards: Left unprotected, such websites can trace your IP address and disclose your browsing habits or maybe swipe personal info through phishing schemes.

For Curiosity. If you are still interested here some working proxy sites as of now:
- putlocker.ma
- w5.putlocker.to
- putlocker99.online
- free-putlockers.com
- putlockers9.live
- pmovies.net
- ww2.putlockers2.com
Remember: These sites play whack-a-mole with ISPs. What is effective today can be shut down tomorrow.
How to Use Them Safely (if at All)
Fine, if you’re going to do this at least keep yourself safe:
Get a good VPN: There is no getting around this. Service such as ExpressVPN or NordVPN encrypt your connection and mask your IP address. Don’t trust free VPNs they’re shady and many sell your data.
Install ad-blockers: uBlock Origin or AdBlock Plus are good. That prevents those malicious ads from even calling up.
Keep antivirus running: Ensure that you have updated antivirus software. It’s your safety blanket in case something falls through.
Don’t download anything, just stream to your browser. Those “Download Now” buttons? Fake. They’re malware traps.
Check for leaks: Even with a VPN, your WebRTC leaks may still expose your real IP address — make sure it’s not by testing it with these WebRTC leak test tools.
Setting It Up (Quick Version)
Here’s what I did:
- Subscribed to a VPN service
- Installed the app and connected to a Canadian server (putlockers is less restricted in Canada)
- I Confirmed new IP address on an IP checker
- Turned on my ad-blocker
- Accessed any of the above sites trough other proxy site
- Streamed without clicking an ads and download buttons
My Honest Take
I have tried this setup and yeah, it works. But honestly? It became kind of old worrying about malware and the CIA. I wound up switching to legal alternatives such as Tubi TV (free and legal) or just paying for Netflix.
Putlocker proxy sites are just a technical way of unblocking Putlocker however technically not solution. You’re always on the run from snarling ISPs, hoping you never have to hear any scary letter from your Internet provider ever again.
If you’re broke and starving for content, fine. Just be smart about it, have protection (VPN + ad-blocker), and know you’re assuming a risk. But legal streaming services are way less stressful if you can swing them.
