I Unlocked All Remembrances in Elden Ring Nightreign.

I will tell you the truth – I spent a good 40 hours to figure out the Remembrance system in Elden Ring Nightreign. Initially, I believed that it was merely additional lore material that I did not have to read.

It happens that these character-based questlines will reveal some incredibly game-altering relics which change the way every Nightfarer is played. This is all I learned playing until I unlocked all eight characters.

What Are Remembrances, Anyway?

Remembrances are more or less intimate narrative searches of all the eight characters that can be played including Guardian, Wylder, Raider, Executor, Revenant, Recluse, Duchess and Iron Eye. They all have several chapters to unlock during playing, and the completion of each of them rewards you with relics of a character-specific and cosmetic skins.

The catch? Fragments of memory will unlock new chapters to you, and you will receive them by defeating Nightlords. I did not realize this just at the start and lost a great deal of run time wondering why there was no improvement.

Here’s My Step-by-Step Process

Start with One Character

Choose anyone who seems good and go with him/her in at least 5-6 expeditions. I began with Guardian as the defensive way of playing fitted my strategy of not dieing at once. Each time you kill a Nightlord using one of the characters of your choice, you will get a Memory Fragment.

Limit the Activities you do to Check Your Journal.

Go to the Roundtable Hold and take the Journal next to the Iron Menial. This follows every Remembrance chapter. When the next chapter opens, there will be an option of Begin Remembrance. Do not take this sleeping–I wasted a chapter myself one time because I did not think to look.

Pass into the World of Memories.

By opening a Remembrance chapter, you will be teleported to a special place with a certain mission. In the case of Guardian, I was to start by destroying a Guardian Golem in Limveld. The other characters have other demands – there are those who demand that you go out to collect something, others require that you kill bosses.

Its goals are represented as red iPads on your map. Plan your route using the detailed map mode and avoid the hideous red eyed enemies which will destroy you otherwise.

Rotate Between Characters

After progressing to the third chapter ofGuardian, I brought out Raider to get more fragments with less time. This made the game interesting and gave me the opportunity to try other styles of play. And the initial Remembrances of certain characters are significantly simpler than the rest of them- Revenant and Guardian progress reasonably straight forward.

Focus on Winning Runs

The point is in the fact that even when you fail in the journey early chapters provide you with parts as well. But later chapters? You positively must beat the Nightlord. In case you are in a fix, first upgrade your character, get a better equippment and then go out and win.

The Rewards Are Worth It

Once I had gone through the entire Remembrance line of Guardian, I received relics of Area-of-Effect that entirely redefied the way I would manage crowds. The relics of Raider which were to build momentum on my side made me feel as an unstoppable freight train. These are not passive increases in stat, it is build defining upgrades.

Also you get to unlock Chalices with slots of relics that can further tailor your build. The last chapter is a reward of a Goblet with a white relic slot, i.e. you can use any relic, no matter the affinity. That is massive as far as flexibility is concerned in building.

My Biggest Mistakes

Failure to communicate in multi players. The Remembrance objective of one player can be active at most in a run. Communicate with your team or you will be wasting time.

Ignoring the map details. Churches, ruins, and mines have various types of items. The knowledge of the origin of things spared me hours of rowing about.

Trying to rush it. Multi-stage tasks occur on some of the chapters. The questline offered by Executor made me discover Blessed Flowers, followed by a Golden Sprout, and a boss. At every stage, failure will require a restart of the entire adventure.

FAQs

How long does it take to unlock all Remembrances?

For all eight characters? I’d say 40+ hours minimum. First several chapters (1-4) estimated 30-60 minutes of expeditions per character. More difficult fights of Nightlord that are found later in the game may take you several hours to win, depending on your success rate.

Which character should I start with?

Guardian or Revenant are easiest regarding Remembrance progressions that have definite goals. Raider is battle-intensive yet does well at familiarizing us with the personality. I would not begin with Duchess or Iron eye the game lines of both get tangled in no time.

Do I need to beat every Nightlord to progress?

No, but you need to beat some. Depending on the character, this varies. I discovered that it was effective to beat this or that Nightlord, do not pick the same one over and over again. Continue rotating and sooner or later the next chapter will open.

Bottom line? The Remembrance rewards loyalty. Select an opposing character, pursue those Memory Fragments, and aren’t too lazy checking the Journal. The artifacts that you unlock will enable you to use them on any adventure much easier– and much more enjoyable.
