Google Photos has received a major overhaul of the user interface and a new logo that looks cleaner and less overwhelming. Instead of the wheel with sharp corners and more colors, you will now see one with rounded edges that has four sheets of solid shading. In terms of redesign, the “For You” section of the bottom bar has been removed, and options such as movies, collages, animations, and stylized photos have been moved to “Memories.”
Larger thumbnails, autoplay videos, and a larger memory carousel are now displayed in the Photos section. The Search tab now has a map view where users can see where they clicked on their photos and videos. The gesture is also supported to quickly switch between cities, states and countries.
