Look, I honestly understand. Sure, playing Clash of Clans on your phone is fine until your battery dies mid-raid or your fingers block half the screen during a clan war attack. Been there. The good news? Getting Clash of Clans running on your PC isn’t some complicated tech wizardry anymore.
Here’s the simplest way to do it, plus what you need to know before you start.

Why You’d Want CoC on PC Anyway
But first, before we jump into the how-to, here’s why this matters. The screen real estate alone changes everything. You’re going from a 6-inch phone display to a 24-inch monitor suddenly you can actually see troop pathing, spot defense gaps, plan attacks without squinting. Plus, no more overheating phone or dead battery during those marathon farming sessions.
And the kicker? Your progress syncs automatically. Build your base on PC, check it on your phone during lunch. It’s the same village, same account.
Method 1: Google Play Games The Official Route
Trust me, this is the easiest path, hands down. And sure, we both know how “easiest path” can go in tech, but hear me out. Google and Supercell made this official in 2022, so you’re not dealing with workarounds or sketchy software.
What You’ll Need First
Hold your download horses. Before you click anything, make sure your system can handle it. You need Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. At least 8GB of RAM (16GB works better), and about 10GB of free space. Your PC also needs virtualization enabled in BIOS sounds technical, but most modern computers have this turned on by default.
One catch: Google Play Games only works in 120+ countries. If you’re outside those regions, you need the emulator route instead.
Step-by-Step Download Process
Here’s how you do it. First, over here: Download Google Play Games.
Step 1: Download the Installer
Visit the official Google Play Games site. Click the download button. The installer is roughly 1GB, so it’s going to take a few minutes. Not that large but still, it depends on your connection speed and stability.
Step 2: Install and Sign In
Run the installer once it’s downloaded. It’s your standard Windows installation just proceed. When it asks you to sign in, do so with your Google account. If you already play Clash on mobile, use that Google account so now your village syncs up.
Step 3: Find Clash of Clans
After installation, you are directed to Google Play Games. At the top where the Search bar is, left-click and type in “Clash of Clans”. It pops up instantly since it is one of the most popular titles. Don’t left-click the actual game title—left-click on the shortcut.
Step 4: Install the Game
At the bottom of the window, there’s a large Install button, click it. It means it’s downloading, and you’ll see the progress at the button of that button. It’s a 200-300MB download. Once it’s done, the game is automatically launched. Log in with your Supercell ID if it prompts you it makes sure your village is the same on all platforms.
That’s it. You are now playing Clash of Clans on a PC.
Quick Tips for Best Performance
Google Play Games allows you to set the FPS rate of the window. You can pick from 30, 60, and if your monitor is capable, 120 or even 144 FPS. The more FPS, the smoother the image, especially important on the attack screen.
Also, now you can use keyboard shortcuts: numbers 1-0 moves units, Q/W/E/R activates heroes, A/S/D/F casts spells. It takes a while to memorize but is much faster than clicking.
Method 2: Android Emulators (The Backup Plan)
BlueStacks is one of the best emulators and supports both Windows and Macs. Download it from the official BlueStacks website, install the software, sign-in Google Play Store inside the emulator, and search for the game as you would on your phone. The additional step is necessary, as you cannot download Google Play Games on your PC.
Emulators work by creating a virtual Android device on your computer. NoxPlayer is a lightweight option for lower-end PCs, and LDPlayer is a budget-friendly emulator. There might be nuances with each tool you need to get used to, but they get the job done.
Is it safe to switch between computer and mobile?
It was a concern for me too, but it should not be. As long as you have signed in with your Supercell ID or your Google Play account, your village data is saved and accessible back and forth. But in order to play on an alternate device, you have to first make the switch on the original one.
The good news is the switch is automatic, so you are not at risk of losing your progress made on the PC if something happens to either of your devices.
Having Trouble?
If your software is lagging or stuttering, close other applications, and update your drivers. There is no harm in going into graphics settings and capping the frames-per-second at 120. Black screen when running the application might mean your GPU drivers need to be updated or virtualization is turned off on your PC.
Look into your BIOS settings by rebooting your PC, or google the model of your computer for the latter. Can’t start the game? Your PC might not have enough storage space or your copy of Windows is outdated. In order to run Google Play Games you need to have Windows version 2004 or newer.
Is it worth it?
If Clash is one of your primary games, I’d argue yes. I think the bigger screen changes the way you approach fights – I can spot details of a base I need to attack I’d miss on mobile. The interface changes completely, and clicking back and forth is just plain easier when you are above 25.
Depends on what you consider “the standard way.”. If it doesn’t work, emulators arefdd another 15-20 minutes, at the very least. And you’re not wasting too much time either way:
The village you really want to be at in terms of playing games is the PC village.
