How to listen to a podcast
Podcasts are everywhere these days and there are many topics to choose from. In recent years, the quality has increased dramatically, as the podcasting space has increased. However, many people do not know how to listen to a Podcast.
That’s where we go! Here we take a look at the different ways you can listen to a podcast, from your smartphone to your smartphone, and everything in between.

How to listen to a podcast on your smartphone The most convenient way to listen to a podcast, in the long run, is through your smartphone. Virtually every device on the market has at least one way of listening, and most phones have many! So if you have a smartphone in your pocket, you already have an ideal platform for listening to podcasts.
Podcast apps for iPhone
If you have an iPhone, then you have a start, because iOS comes with a built-in podcast app. Search your apps for a so-called Apple Podcasts (or scroll down and search for it). It’s a great app for the average listener, allowing you to search the directory, find new shows, and easily subscribe. So you just need to start the app every time you want to listen and choose an episode for that day!
Alternative apps on iOS include Pocketcasts and Spotify, but you can see our full Apple Podcast app guide here.
Android podcast apps
Android users have their own built-in podcasting app, Google Podcasts, but it’s much more limited than Apple’s offering, and I wouldn’t recommend it at this point.
Instead, download Pocketcasts or Castbox and start listening right away. Again, you can see our complete Android podcast app guide right here.
Headphones for listening to podcasts
Of course, if you listen to your smartphone, you will need a pair of headphones. Most newer smartphones come with decent headphones, so it’s a good start. It is very useful to have wired controls to start stopping the program while listening. Then you won’t miss a thing when you take off your headphones to talk to the friend you meet across the street.
To get even more out of your favorite shows, you may want to switch to a better pair of headphones than standard headphones. It doesn’t even have to cost a fortune to get a great set and you can read about our favorite headphones here.
How to listen to a podcast on your computer
wtf podcast: Listening on your smartphone is definitely the most convenient in the long run, because of how mobile it is. But technically, the easiest and most obvious way to listen to a podcast is to play it live on your computer. The downside is that you are glued to the desktop, but that’s fine sometimes. And it can also be a great way to find new shows and get a sample before you subscribe to the phone.
How does it work? Almost all podcasts have a playback feature directly on the episode pages. Navigate to the podcast page, find the play button, and listen.
This is what the podcraft website looks like on our podcast hosting platform. You can play directly from there on your computer.
Similarly, you can play any program within one of the directory applications on your computer. The most popular examples are iTunes and Spotify. If you have any of the apps on your computer, navigate to the podcasts section, browse, and hit play. Even better, if you use the Spotify app to listen on your phone, the subscription is transferred directly to that platform. Seamless! Unfortunately, iTunes and Apple Podcasts don’t connect in the same way.
As long as you have speakers or headphones connected, this method of listening to a podcast is a nice thing to do. You can find a wide range of computer speakers on Amazon to suit almost any budget.
Of course, in the long run, the downside is that you’re stuck sitting at the computer, which can be a bit tricky when it comes to an hour-long show. But if it’s a short episode or you can play the podcast through your PC speakers while doing something else around the house, then it can be fast and reliable.

wtf podcast: The car is the most common place to listen to a podcast, based on the latest podcast statistics. Makes sense: it’s always been a great place to hear the radio
