How to Start a Successful Business from Home: “Hello, Welcome to the success at home guide: How to start a successful business from home! The following will provide you with all the information you need to know how to start a successful business from within your own home.”

“We’ll start by getting to know you, your skills and what you want to achieve! Then we’ll explore the options available for starting a business from home.”

“It’s time to focus on your future. Let’s get started!”

I decided that I wanted to start my own business after working in an office environment for 17 years. The company I worked for changed hands numerous times which meant staff turnover every time the new owners took over. Back then I was happy because it meant extra shifts were available, but as time went on changes continued and there wasn’t much consistency with my hours and pay.

It became harder and harder to manage different work schedules and getting appropriate childcare just wasn’t at short notice so the decision was made to start a business from home. I wanted to be able to spend more time with my children and have more flexibility which meant being able to do their school pickups and generally being there for them when they needed me the most.

So, now it’s your turn! What are you going to do?

“You’ve got so many options!” “Let us help you navigate your way through all the possibilities available.”

You can sell items on eBay or Amazon, start a blog or website that offers services or write articles for content websites. You could even buy a franchise! There really is no limit as to what you can do but before deciding how you’re going to spend your days let’s take a look at some of those options and see what they entail says Peter DeCaprio.

Starting a Business from Home: eBay and Amazon Selling

A lot of people start out selling on eBay or Amazon as it’s something you can do from home without any qualifications. People often wonder how to start a business from home – the answer is, very easily! You don’t need any experience or specific skills as there are plenty of training resources available online that will guide you through the process step by step.

Most importantly, it doesn’t have to be difficult! So many people think starting a business requires expertise in all sorts of areas but this simply isn’t true anymore – especially with how accessible everything has become thanks to technology.

eCommerce has been rapidly growing over the last decade which means there’s a large market out there for those looking to sell online, but before getting started it’s important to understand the different selling platforms available.

Amazon vs eBay: how do they compare?

When starting a business from home you should consider the pros and cons of both Amazon and eBay as your options for selling your goods or services. In terms of popularity, eBay comes second only to Amazon yet, surprisingly many people don’t know that you can actually sell on both sites! It’s important however to be aware that there are some differences so here we’ll take a look at what these are so that you can decide which platform is going to be best suited for your needs.

Both eCommerce websites have their pros and cons so each site would be suitable for different types of sellers. When deciding how to start a business from home it’s important to consider what you are comfortable with and how much effort you’re willing to put into your venture before making the decision on which platform will be of most benefit.

eBay was founded in 1995 by Pierre Omidyar. With almost half a billion users it’s the world’s largest online trading community with over 800 million items for sale at any given time!  You can sell practically anything on eBay but before deciding whether this is the right selling platform for you, there are some things you need to know about their selling policies;

Sellers are charged £3 ($4) per item listed (regardless of price)

Fee deducted from your final value fee if the item sells

eBay fees are discounted for sellers who take advantage of eBay Plus. This is a monthly membership program which costs £25 ($36) per month and offers benefits such as discounts on postage, insurance and even access to eBay’s sister company PayPal Credit (similar to paying by credit card). You can find out more about eBay’s special promotions here.

Amazon was founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos. Over 310 million active users buy approx 1 billion items each year!  Amazon does differ to eBay in that it charges different types of seller fees depending on whether you’re setting up an individual or professional account. Fees vary between countries so before deciding whether to use Amazon’s selling platform, be sure to check what the fees are where you live.

Conclusion by Peter DeCaprio:

eBay and Amazon both have their pros and cons so before deciding where to sell your items, be sure to review the fees and decide which one best suits your needs.
