However, in the process, they tricked some users into connecting AppSheet. I don’t use the app. On the laptop. Tried on Firefox / Chrome = same error. Tried 2-Step Verification, same error again. Disabling 2-Step Verification, still getting the same error. I am signed in to a Google account and I have verified access to the account, as well as 50-100 thousand others:

The following work doesn’t work because after logging into Gmail I clicked on the Forgot Password button, I was asked to enter the last password I can remember. I know this because I obviously subscribe to this forum. (sniffs) I still get the same ERROR: “Google login is temporarily disabled for this app. Application verification is not done by Google to use Google Sign.

Quick update: iNaturalist appears to be reaching the speed limit set by Google and we will go through their steps with them to remove it (by validating).
Meanwhile, if you come across this, it will be a great solution:

At this point, I solved my personal problem: I just entered my gmail address and asked for a new password, and luckily my gmail became the default username when the account was created with "google login". address and asks for a new password, and luckily my gmail ends up as the default username when the account is created with "log in with google".
