I continued to see Khaslana appearing in forums and had no clue who Khaslana was. In earnest I continued to read the Star Rail forums with a person mentioning Khaslana as though it was household.
I would see the stuff claiming the damage done by Khaslana/ the proper way to construct Khaslana and I sit there wondering… was I not given a character banner?
It turned out that I was not missing anything. Khaslana is not another character that Phainon pulls but the actual one when Phainon changes during his Ultimate. You know, that is not what the game dictates to you.

So Who’s Phainon, Really?
The following is the agreement: Phainon is a 5-star Physical DPS and able to move along the Destruction Path. Slap-dash material. but as soon as you have turned on his Ultimate to He Who Bears the World Must Burn he does not simply make a dazzling attack; he turns himself entirely into Khaslana, the mythical Deliverer and Bearer of the World of Amphoreus.
It is not only a visual modification. The change is an entirely new gameplay mode.
The Kevin Kaslana Connection Nobody Talks About.
This will be immediately obvious to you if you have ever played Honkai Impact 3 rd. Khaslana is simply an equivalent to Kevin Kaslana, the mythical hero that assumed the command of the Thirteen Flame-Chasers. The parallels aren’t subtle:
- Kevin had been The greatest champion of humankind- Phainon was the World Bearer.
- Project Stigmata Kevin denied his humanity – eternal recurrence Phainon.
- They both had to kill their comrades over and over again and bear the burden.
It’s not just fan theory stuff. The story is specifically an imitation of Kevin, all the way up to his isolation and his readiness to give up everything in order to save humanity.
The Reality of How the Transformation Works.
I tried Phainon some time, the transformation mechanic is sincerely individual. You accumulate something which I modify you might say are charge stacks, called Coreflames. At 12 Coreflames, you are able to activate the Ultimate.

Upon the activation of Khaslana, the following will occur:
You receive 8 set additional turns on 60 percent of Base speed of Phainon. Your whole squad turns into a dead bunch (they can not literally do anything). Every enemy becomes physically weak, even without it. Phainon obtains huge buffs – 80% ATK and 270% max hp.
The catch? You are playing alone on the 8 turns. No healer support, no aid in the time of change. It is simply of Khaslana, and all on-screen.
The Reason behind the confusion with Khaslana.
The misunderstanding would be understandable due to the fact that the game would consider Khaslana as a separate personality. The fight against his Khaslana form is one of the key elements of the plot of Phainon during the story. He reconciles with his burden in version 3.4. In version 3.6, Khaslana appears with a stricter look, with a golden tone and this symbolizes acceptance.
Moreover, the community automatically began calling the transformed state Khaslana since… well, it is much easier than calling Phainon Ultimate transformation state every time.
Should You Care That Much about This Character?
Don’t I tell you that Phainon/Khaslana is a must-pull. However, he is worth considering in case of Physical DPS with mechanics that are unique. The transformation gameplay is actually not similar to other characters – you are basically playing in a mini mode where you are on a boss rush.
The biggest downside? He’s demanding. It requires certain aids (Sunday and Bronya are the best), accurate speed adjustment, and you must deal with the Coreflame charging option. It does not take a pull and auto-win scenario.
But when you get the rotation right and Khaslana stampses foes with his 8 additional turns? Pretty satisfying.
What I Wish I had Been Told Before.
To get acquainted with this role, the following are what is actually important:
Khaslana is not a character banner in itself– save thy Stellar Jade. The metamorphosis is not without limit (8 turns) and thus you cannot remain in Khaslana form forever. Your team cannot literally assist you in the change, and as such, develop Phainon tanky enough to toil on her own.
That last point bit me hard. I constructed him wholly glass cannon initially, and he would be torn apart half a turn of transformation, as I forgot that his team would not be able to protect or heal him in those 8 turns.
The good news? The sustain of Khaslana will be built-in he will restore 20% of his max HP with every attack and be reducing the damage 75% against the enemies acting. Even then you still have to work on to give him a chance of survival.
So yeah, that’s Khaslana. Representing not a covert figure, not a poster of tomorrow, but the real identity of Phainon shrouded in transformation mechanics, which could have been better explained by the game itself. Now when you meet people discussing Khaslana in the forums, you will know what they actually are referring to.
