How to Apply for Honkai Nexus Anima: What I Learned After Trying

Well, to tell the truth, I have initially assumed that Honkai Nexus Anima, released suddenly by HoYoverse, is yet another gacha game. However, then I watched the adorable animals (they refer to them as Anima), read how the auto-chess plays, and now I am starting to check my email every hour to see when I could get an invitation to the beta.

The point is that I have not been able to participate in the original closed beta. Yeah, it stings a bit. Nevertheless, I got to know a lot about how to apply to the Honkai Nexus Anima, the things that are considered when applying, and what happens when you apply to such tasks.

The Application Window (And Why Timing Matters)

Their initial test was the so-called Nexus Bond Test which was registered between August 29 and September 12, 2025. That’s a tight two-week window. On the 10 th day I discovered it, and this is likely to have damaged my prospects.

This is what ensued when I applied: I went to the official HNA site, pressed that huge button marked as Join The Test, and used my HoYoverse account to log in. It is the same one that I use with Genshin impact.

Then came the questionnaire. They enquired about my device specifications, the kinds of games that I undertake and, the clincher, the amount of money that I spend on games. I was brutally honest. Maybe too honest? I am more of a here and there player than a whale.

What Does Really Go into the Application.

The process itself? Pretty straightforward. It is just filling out a form the questions asked are:

Which device to play on (only PC and iOS on this initial test – Android will follow subsequently)
Gaming experience (play other HoYoverse games, auto-chess games, creature collector games, etc.)
Your average spending on games.

I spent maybe 10 minutes on it. None of the essay questions, no complicated struggles. Nothing but sincere responses to your arrangement and patterns.

However, what I would have liked to know briefly before I pressed submit is that HoYoverse stated that accounts that had greater historical activity may have greater odds. Translation? Assuming that you were playing Genshin or Star Rail, the connection of that account would be helpful. It is not a guarantee, yet it makes sense, as the testers will be also real people ready to log in and give feedback.

Email-Checking Hell (A Waiting Game).

Once you have made a submission, you simply wait. They reach out to invitation emails to some testers. I kept on checking my inbox between three days. Spam folder too. Nothing.

Others in Reddit claimed to receive their invitation in 48 hours. Others waited till the final day before the test. The process of selection involves randomization, hence it is partly chance.

The Requirements in Devices that Count.

Many were caught out in this section. Although the game was available during the beta, it supported only the PC (Windows 10+) and specific iOS devices. Unluckily, having an iPhone 13 mini and regular iPhone 13 is unlucky, as they only supported iPhone 12 Pro, 13 Pro, and newer iPhone Pro models.

In the case of PC, they would recommend an RTX 2060 or higher. I have a little more aged one, which made me anxious. However, the community response is that in case you can comfortably play Genshin Impact, it is likely that you will be ok. The game itself was not even optimized to beta.

Storage requisite 15GB reserved space. By no means huge, but should be cleared out before it is applied.

What I would have done differently next time.

Should there be a second test opened (and, I tell ye, I am betting that there will be before the entire release), I would do so:

Apply on day one. This may not be assured but at least there is no harm received by the early birds.

Be available on my HoYoverse account. I have developed a more frequent routine of logging into Genshin in case such tracking of activities is a reality.

Have my device specs ready. Before beginning the questionnaire, be sure of your specific model of GPU, RAM and iOS version.

The current application may no longer be open, but it was necessary to know how to apply to Honkai Nexus Anima to have an opportunity one day. Additionally, having a clue about what HoYoverse is seeking by putting testers forward will provide you with a grave competitive advantage the next time around.
