Being honest with you, bro, Fortnite has had me hunting mythical loot more than I would care to acknowledge, as well as The Mandalorian Jetpack? It’s actually worth the hunt. This took me a good weekend of experimenting with the two approaches to come up with this very thing, and this is what worked (and what did not).

Why You Want This Jetpack
I would like to explain the reasons why this Mandalorian Jetpack has made my experience in Fortnite change before bursting into the process of having it. It is not simply some kind of backpack gimmick. It flies, allows you to shoot in the air and eliminates fall damage.
I mean floating over the head of a person and seeing her panic as she tries to follow you up and down. It’s brutal, and I love it.
The jetpack was first introduced in Chapter 6, Season 3, and thus it is a refined version of what we used in Chapter 2. It has a flight time of approximately 12 seconds before it needs to recharge and it would be short, but believe me that is enough when you are maneuvering to get on high ground.
Random Loot (The Gamble) Method 1.
I had tried the first way that I tried to play the game normally and hope that I find one. The Mandalorian Jetpack itself is a certain random chest/floor loot, however, there was the trick in it, the jetpack is mythic/epic in several ways, and not every match, you are likely to come across it in the game.
I got off the best at inspecting rare chests in outposts. There were a few successful spawn points of Magic Mosses area which worked well with me but to be honest? It’s a gamble. The first five minutes I would find some of these matches. On other occasions I would go three hours without seeing it.
The testing advice I gained is that the Outposts around Magic Mosses run a little higher rates on mythic, however, half the lobby is competing over them. When you find yourself dropping hot then go ahead. If not, there’s a better way.
Method 2: Furnish Mandalorian NPC (The Smart Play).
This is how you can have the Mandalorian Jetpack with almost certainty and frankly speaking, this is what I would have advised even were you actually planning to use it on the matches.
The Supply Mandalorian, an NPC, is hanging around northeast of Magic Mosses, next to a bridge. I located him rather easily after becoming familiar with the location. He will have you hooked up with a 100-durability Epic version of the jetpack.
But there’s a catch. This process requires the evolution of the community in a process known as Alignment quests. In essence, all of the Fortnite players will need to join hands and collectively complete Light or Dark side challenges before this NPC begins to sell jetpacks.
By the time I tried this, it was unlocked by the community and I simply had to walk up and take one. Assuming it is not unlocked yet in your server, then there is a wait or do the Alignment quests on your own. I verified the guide of Beebom and the breakdown of GameRant – both of them stated that this is how the progression system works.
How to Actually Use It
After you have the jetpack, the following are the things you have to know:
Controls are simple:
- Jump button to climb high/fly (X on the Xbox, A on Playstation, Space on PC)
- Normal move to theoretical strafe.
- Squat down and burn, or simply burn out.
It is special as it has the hover mechanic. You are not flying there and down only, you can hang literally in the air and take shots. So many people have been eliminated where I stand right on top of them and make a camera angles. Majority of the players are not able to aim straight up effectively and thus you are practically unstoppable as long as you play it well.
Keep time of your durability though. The jetpack does not last indefinitely. This was something I got to know when I lost mine in a single battle. In bursts, training position, training reposition, position, position, position. You are not ready to lose it just by hanging around it flaunting it.
Quick Tips From My Testing
Having played with this thing in approximately 20 matches, I had the following experience:
Hoard your fuel when it is needed. It is cool to scout the game early, but wins matches with the late positioning. I began hoarding mine until the last circles, and my position was much better.
The 8 seconds recharge is an eternity when your being shot, thus you should not wasted up until you are under cover. I have died wait till I can be recharged.
And this is something no one informed me about, even when your jetpack runs low out of fuel, you still do not fall damaged. I tested this off a mountain. You’re safe.
Final Take
Acquiring the Mandalorian Jetpack in Fortnite requires either achieving a chance through RNG or taking the sure path of the NPC path. I would go to the Supply Mandalorian in case he is unlocked and then I would take the jetpack and play with it a few times in a few matches and then go full aerial assassin mode.
It is a process, but it is not very tough once you learn how to work the fuel system and get oriented to positioning, you will see why everybody is searching around to find this one. Only do not be that one that wasted it flying around as a form of entertainment in the first two minutes.
